Phrase list for writing e-mails

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello everybody, I used the search function to look for any similar phrase or vocabulary lists, but I could not find anything related.

The main goal is to have a full list of the most useful phrases in this post in a couple weeks time, so this will be updated constantly.

Structure of the phrase list:

  1. 开头称呼:Addressing the other person
    1. Polite
    2. Casual
  2. 问候语:optional small talk
  3. 正文:Main Body
  4. 祝颂:Greetings
    1. Polite
    2. Casual
  5. 署名和日期:Format for writing name and date
  6. Dos and don'ts of writing e-Mails in Chinese

If there are any other categories I've missed, please tell me!

7. Subject title   (obviously this could change based on content of the email, I'm thinking more about general emails when you're making contact with someone, but not necessarily discussing a specific topic,  particularly 1st contact emails - in English I might "Contact!").

8. Email closing salutation
