Adopt-Tees Posted September 16, 2005 at 04:58 AM Report Posted September 16, 2005 at 04:58 AM I am starting a fundraiser for international adoption, and am opening a cafe press tshirt shop. I personally am adopting from Haiti, so I put the phrase "love & pray... Haiti" on the shirt in Haitian Creole. I want to do the same shirt for other countries, for those adoptive parents, but I need help with the ones that don't use roman lettering. Would you EVER see chinese written out in roman letters? If so, how would I spell/write/read "love and pray China" in roman lettering? If it would be goofy to do that ,please write it here in the right chinese characters and I'll put it in the tshirt logo. Thanks so much for your help! Stephanie of Adopt-Tees Quote
skylee Posted September 16, 2005 at 06:48 AM Report Posted September 16, 2005 at 06:48 AM If "pray" means "to wish/hope strongly", then I suggest - 愛與盼望 ... 中國 (Ai yu panwang ... Zhongguo) OR 愛與盼 ... 中國 (Ai yu pan ... Zhongguo) If "pray" means "to pray to God", then I suggest - 愛與祈禱 ... 中國 (Ai yu qidao ... Zhongguo) OR 愛與禱告 ... 中國 (Ai yu daogao ... Zhongguo) Chinese characters are cool. Their romanised version is not. Quote

So, why not print Chinese characters directly? Printing Chinese characters + English translation is better than Chinese PinYin Quote

I will let the people know how to say it thank you for including the "pinyin" version for pronounciation... phonetically is china pronounced John-gwoh (with a soft j)? and does yu mean "and"? and qidao is kee-dah-oh? so Ai yu Qidao...Zhongguo that works?
