Popular Post RobynElizabeth Posted April 25, 2020 at 01:00 PM Popular Post Report Posted April 25, 2020 at 01:00 PM This is a new app called Knowclip for making audio & picture flashcards that open in Anki that I came across on Reddit. Ive used it on Mac and windows 10 and I really love it and recommend it. It is a lot easier than Subs2SRS so I thinks its an awesome option for people who don't want to deal with that. Its really so easy. You load your video and create the flashcards whilst watching. You can load external subs , both target and (if you have them) native subs. I really like the the optional loop audio , you can listen repeatedly to any section without multiple clicks . You can skip forward to next sub line , or back . Or you can just watch and wait till a good sentence comes up. You can use the waveform at the bottom and highlight / drag to adjust the audio so each soundclip will be timed perfectly. You don't have to make the flashcard according to the subfile, you can highlight the sections as you like. Sometimes my subs2SRS sentences have a good sentence divided into 2 or 3 cards and they end up not coming up in order , its a bit disjointed, so for some really good dialogues I can recreate the cards perfectly in Knowclip. You can also just watch without creating flashcards, while looping audio on selected sentences for listening practice. Ive attached a screen shot from my Windows laptop. This is the youtube video and Reddit post from the app creator: https://youtu.be/Duy8f4bOa-Y https://www.reddit.com/r/languagelearning/comments/fpy86h/turn_any_video_into_language_flashcards_with/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x 7 Quote
NinKenDo Posted April 28, 2020 at 10:10 AM Report Posted April 28, 2020 at 10:10 AM Rather impressive. Elegant and intuitive workflow. I particularly like the ability to make up for some of the shortcomings in a lot of the sub files we receive. Doesn't fit into my current workflow for creating cards, but I have a use case in mind for this when it comes to mining. Very nice indeed. Quote
