Translation Says "Already Dead"?

I've been reading this book, when I came across a sentence that I'm struggling to make sense of:

"看那脚步,是一个青春已逝的妇人"

Looking where she stepped?

Is a young, already dead, married woman?

It doesn't seem natural to me, I'm just getting the imagine of a zombified woman stumbling about the place.

Could someone explain it to me?
