HashiriKata Posted September 17, 2005 at 08:08 AM Report Posted September 17, 2005 at 08:08 AM 1. 你别开玩笑了 2. 你别跟我开玩笑了 3. 你别把我开玩笑了 4. 你别开我玩笑了 Above are the 4 sentences I recalled/ made-up but I'm not sure if they are all correct. So please tell me if you can: a. Are they all correct ? b. In meaning, 1 & 2 are similar (Stop kidding me!) and 3 & 4 are similar (Stop making fun of me!). Is this correct? c. Apart from the difference in b, can you spot any other differences among the 4 sentences or do you have any other comments? Cheers, Quote
xiaocai Posted September 17, 2005 at 10:37 AM Report Posted September 17, 2005 at 10:37 AM I think 1 is similar to 2. But 3 sounds a little bit awkward to me, may be 你别拿我开玩笑了 should be better. Just like in English, the subject is ignorable in imperative mood, and this usually comes as the most common expression. So it is more often said as: 别开玩笑了 别跟我开玩笑了 别拿我开玩笑了 别开我玩笑了 Quote
HashiriKata Posted September 17, 2005 at 11:01 AM Author Report Posted September 17, 2005 at 11:01 AM Thank you xiaocai! Could you (or anyone) confirm that 别拿我开玩笑了 means the same as 别开我玩笑了 ? Cheers, Quote
xuezhongwen Posted September 17, 2005 at 02:21 PM Report Posted September 17, 2005 at 02:21 PM 1, 别开玩笑了 2, 别跟我开玩笑了 3, 别拿我开玩笑了 4, 别开我玩笑了 are all correct, but carry slightly different meanings. 1, stop making jokes 2, don't joke with me 3, 4 don't joke about me Quote
