kouch Posted July 6, 2020 at 02:37 PM Report Posted July 6, 2020 at 02:37 PM Hi everyone, I hope you're well. I haven't been able to find the information on the Internet. I was granted the CSC scholarship in 2017. I would like to apply to the Confucius scholarship for 1 semester (Chinese Language). Am I eligible ? I also read somewhere before that people who studied in China before cannot apply for this program. But I don't see any mention of that anymore on the website. Any idea ? Thanks a lot ! Kenza Quote
mesztii Posted July 21, 2020 at 03:46 PM Report Posted July 21, 2020 at 03:46 PM Hi! As far as I know there's no such criteria. My situation was the reverse, I studied first in China with CIS, then the next year with CSC. There was no problem at all. So I think you're free to apply. Quote
New Members Joz Posted August 23, 2020 at 04:03 AM New Members Report Posted August 23, 2020 at 04:03 AM Hi! I was granted the CIS scholarship in 2018, and when registering in China, they were checking who studied in China before (checking the visas in your passport, X1 or X2). They had some troubles registering. So I suggest writing an email to CI in your country before applying. Rules may have changed since then. Quote
New Members Hai Yen Posted June 11, 2023 at 03:28 AM New Members Report Posted June 11, 2023 at 03:28 AM @kouch Hi, can I get an update on the eligibility criteria for CIS application, I also heard that if you have studied in China before, you cannot apply to 1-semester language grant. Thank you lots! Quote
PandaCat Posted July 10, 2023 at 03:48 AM Report Posted July 10, 2023 at 03:48 AM @Hai Yen The application website states that if the applicant already has the X1/X2 visa, which means they have studied in China before, then they are not eligible for the one-semester scholarship Quote
