one-word questions/clarifications?

I am assuming the answer is yes but... can you add the question "ma" to the end of a single word (Chinese meaning word, even it has more than 1 syllable) to clarify/question something? without having to add verbs, etc?

ie someone says anything about China, ie: "wo3 shi4 zhong1guo2ren2." Can I say "zhong1guo2ren2 ma?"

or adding in a seperate "why"... "wo3 yao4 qu4".... (I'm going to go)... can someone ask "zai4 nar2? Zhong1guo2ma?" (where? China?) or "shen2me shi2hou4? xian4zai4ma?" (when? now?)

thanks!

I don't see a problem with it, although if someone tells you they are "going" somewhere, you should ask "going where" (去哪?) rather than "at where" (在哪). The latter implies they are already there.
