Jim Posted September 26, 2020 at 04:28 PM Report Share Posted September 26, 2020 at 04:28 PM It can be done but the imagery was imported in translation so doesn't really come over as particularly special in Chinese in my opinion, which would be even less of a reason to have it tattooed in a language you don't know. Anyway, to answer the question you asked, one version is which is fairly literal modern vernacular is 黎明前最黑暗 , maybe something like 昏天暗地天将破晓 to sound more literary but I've just made that up and it might be rubbish. Would advise against in any case.
Tomsima Posted September 27, 2020 at 01:44 AM Report Share Posted September 27, 2020 at 01:44 AM there must be a good idiom that captures this, I can only think of 苦盡甘來 but that's not quite the same
