Harvey Posted September 20, 2005 at 10:28 PM Report Posted September 20, 2005 at 10:28 PM I'm thinking to study at one of the Beijing schools next year. Do any of these schools offer homestay as a housing option? Or are there other seperate homestay programs one could apply to whlie studying at one of the schools for about one year? Thanks for any help Quote

Harvey Posted October 5, 2005 at 02:50 PM Author Report Posted October 5, 2005 at 02:50 PM Any other programs which can set you up with a homestay around? I'm surprised that BCLU or BNU don't give that option... Quote
Dan Bang Posted October 6, 2005 at 02:08 PM Report Posted October 6, 2005 at 02:08 PM I would just find a shared apartment with a Chinese.. It's not as difficult as you would think... Quote
Harvey Posted October 6, 2005 at 10:49 PM Author Report Posted October 6, 2005 at 10:49 PM How would that work? Just get into Beijing or Dailan or whatever, grab the local paper, find people advertising for a shared room and call them up? Or is there some type of agency to arrange? Quote
roddy Posted October 7, 2005 at 01:54 AM Report Posted October 7, 2005 at 01:54 AM The universities don't offer that option probably as they would prefer you stay in their dorms. As for finding a shared apartment, it works pretty much the same way as in any major city - check classifieds online and in magazines / papers, look at noticeboards, word of mouth, etc. Roddy Quote
