but still nothing about the others

The characters are stylised not exact. Maybe the last character is 垉?

Very odd characters for a name, even a "translation" of a Western or other foreign name.

 

Is there more on the embroidery? Is it old?

Nothing more, 19th century or earlier, I'll post more photos when I can

I wondered if it might be the transliteration of a Manchu name or term but not having much joy with the search tools I have available.

Here's one more photo, with the classic depiction of 2 celestial dragons. could it be "gibberish" for the export market? The quality of the embroidery is very good.

Just throwing ideas out: could this have something to do with a secret society or hocus-pocus magic, that sort of thing?

Of course, sometimes objects used in those sorts of rituals can bring bad luck to someone who doesn't know how to use them properly.
