I wasn't referring to tone sandhi, but rather vowel and consonant sandhi, both internal and external. (I've had 5 years of College Sanskrit). I hadn't heard of tone sandhi until I started studying Mandarin a year ago. For me, even using the example sentence, I find that there's a definite shift in the aspiration stop, even though it's not too emphasized. Almost a doubling of the "n" sound too. Stephan Quote
