Jim Posted December 31, 2020 at 07:10 PM Report Posted December 31, 2020 at 07:10 PM Looks to read 卅三年端阳悲鸿磐溪遣闷 then has a seal with the name of the famous artist Xu Beihong - he's referred to in the text which copies a line that appears in his signature on one of his paintings: http://www.xbhysg.com/plus/view.php?aid=50 but yours changes the date to Duanyang [Duanwu] Festival 1944 (assuming the year 33 is the 33rd year of the republic), the identical part reads "Beihong, in a bid to dispel boredom [to pass the time] while at Panxi." No idea if he used that turn of phrase to sign more than one picture. ETA And looking at an image search of his signatures this looks to be a composite of several extant ones. 1 Quote
