TCcookie Posted September 23, 2005 at 12:26 AM Report Posted September 23, 2005 at 12:26 AM Hi, quick question. I hope this doesn't sound really ignorant . Does the song 大阪城的姑娘 refer to Osaka? If so, could someone explain? Thanks. Quote
elina Posted September 23, 2005 at 01:00 AM Report Posted September 23, 2005 at 01:00 AM 大阪城 is a city name in 新疆 / Xin Jiang province, not Osaka, and 大阪城的姑娘 is a 新疆 folk song. Quote
studentyoung Posted September 23, 2005 at 02:36 AM Report Posted September 23, 2005 at 02:36 AM Please really excuse me, but it should be 达板城 in 新疆 not 大板 Osaka in Japan. Thanks! Quote
HashiriKata Posted September 23, 2005 at 09:56 AM Report Posted September 23, 2005 at 09:56 AM A search in Baidu showed that 达板城的姑娘 and 大阪城的姑娘 are the same song, so I supposed that both 达板城 and 大阪城 refer to the same place in China. (Of course, in another context, 大阪城 is the Osaka Castle in Japan) Quote
miss_China_so_much Posted September 23, 2005 at 03:05 PM Report Posted September 23, 2005 at 03:05 PM 大阪城的姑娘 is a wrong name. Should be 达板城的姑娘. It's a folk song in 新疆 with a strong 新疆 style. Completely nothing to do with Japan or Japanese! Quote
889 Posted September 24, 2005 at 12:43 PM Report Posted September 24, 2005 at 12:43 PM There's also a Daban 大板 in Nei Meng, near Balin You Qi 巴林右旗, a few hours' north of Chifeng. Quote
