Takeshi Posted January 21, 2021 at 01:27 AM Report Posted January 21, 2021 at 01:27 AM Yea, I can't stand cakes in China too. Never had a good one. Arome in HK probably makes the best Chinese style sponge cakes I've ever had, and I can bear to eat them, but it's still a Chinese style sponge cake. I saw M&S sells normal British style cakes, but I haven't tried any of their normal cakes (got their Christmas cake a couple times). People in the mainland probably have no choices. Having said that, I think 99% of store bought cakes in my home country (Canada) are worse (but there are a few exceptions, like Dufflet's Bakery https://www.dufflet.com/). I am used to eating home made cakes through family tradition that are always better. 1 Quote
