I looked earlier and scratched my head at the character on the right and got no joy searching with combos of the ones I do recognise; for what it's worth , and taking the stroke far left as a character on its own, I get 一早弄秀X with that last character perhaps 宅 but I doubt it, top's not right, could be 毛 underneath anyway and looks like there's part hidden in the fold anyway. Couldn't make it make sense reading right to left or left to right either.

Not much help I'm afraid but someone else might do better.

A confusingly scrawled 一早弄香花?

Is there an illustration of some sort on the fan? If so, seeing it might help.

It reads 早弄秀瓦. 弄瓦 means give birth to a baby girl. So the whole phrase means 早日生一个漂亮的女娃娃 or in English give birth to a pretty baby girl soon.

Thank you so much Kenny.

This was written by an old Chinese monk 30 years ago in Hong Kong.

We have a 29 years old beautiful daughter who just got married and I wanted to give her this present.

Thanks.
