Working while studying

For those of you who have studied in China, are there any jobs that are legal to do? I ask because even on full scholarships, you only get a few hundred dollars per monthly stipend outside of the tuition fee most of the time.

Just wondering what most people do aside from save up potentially 4 years worth of savings.
