JackP Posted September 25, 2005 at 04:23 PM Report Share Posted September 25, 2005 at 04:23 PM Hey there, I have a bit of a problem... Somewhere this week typing Chinese characters with the normal IME stopped working for Internet Explorer. I can press Alt-Shift all day but nothing happens. If I set the language input by just clicking the icons, it will only work for the address bar. Every input I try in a textbox/form on a website just receives normal letters, no characters. The funny thing is, as soon as I try this in any other program (tried Outlook, Word, Excel, Wordpad, and some others) it´s working... Both using Alt-Shift and changing it by hand! I could of course just type the characters in WordPad and then copy-paste them, but that will become a bit of a nuisance after a while... Somebody knows what´s going on here or should I just reinstall the East-Asian language pack? Oh... I´m running WinXPsp2 with IExplorer 6.
gougou Posted September 26, 2005 at 01:24 AM Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 at 01:24 AM The Microsoft IME can be a bit of nuisance at times, but I never had any permanent problems, so can't help you much on that. But I think the easiest solution to your problem would be changing from IE to Firefox.
