Eszter Posted May 27, 2021 at 11:16 PM Report Posted May 27, 2021 at 11:16 PM I'm a professional teacher, and recently I started a weekly online group class for Chinese learners to help my students improve their speaking skills. We create stories together, and have a lot of discussion in Chinese while we decide on plot twists or details. I opened up the class to the public to get bigger groups for my students, but each session has an 8-people maximum. If you would like to know more about it, visit the website where you can find some more details, a sample story and you can sign up for the next class! Currently we do Fridays, 5pm Eastern time on Zoom, the lessons are 40 minutes long, and participation is donation based, so you can pay what you're comfortable with. Shelley Posted May 28, 2021 at 04:33 PM Report Posted May 28, 2021 at 04:33 PM Nice to see you about Eszter, hope you are well. Is this similar to the circular stories we did? Quote
Eszter Posted May 28, 2021 at 08:15 PM Author Report Posted May 28, 2021 at 08:15 PM Hi Shelley, it's great to "see" you again! Yes, it's similar, but this time in a group setting. I think stories are more fun to create in groups, where everybody can offer suggestions. Deciding between suggestions is also a great speaking practice, or when we figure out where the story should go next. What is similar is the complete sentences and the lots of repetition, and hopefully also the efficiency 1 Quote
