Chinese writing contest invitation

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

There is a Chinese Writing Contest just launched, inviting contestants to write something using only 320 characters. The contest closes on Sep 30. Great prizes have line up.

Details are here:

Anyone who is interested, do enter.

My question is:

To check the character requirement, I’m looking for a software which can screen characters and can filter characters out which are not included in the list, if any.

I’ve checked with Imron. His Chinese Text Analyzer can do this, with a bit of manoeuvre.

Does anyone know any software which is easier to use? Ideally, copy and paste, and press a button, so that each contestant can have a quick check before submitting.

Try this: https://regexr.com/60vqa

It's a bit of a hack as the tool is designed for testing regexes, but should work in a pinch. Paste/type under "Text" (don't edit "Expression" as that's the pattern used to match the characters).

Chinese Writing Contest 2022 is just closed. There are 27 nice stories and poems are competing for the prizes this year.

To make it open and fair, unbiased votes from capable readers of Chinese are required. I have invited many people to vote.

As this forum has so many talented people, (thank you Demonic_Duck), anyone who’d like to help out would be great.

Please read these writings here:  https://www.mslmaster.com/index.php/8-contest/234-chinese-writing-contest-qualified-entries

Then vote the best four on Twitter.

Mod: can you change the subject line to “Help select the winners of Chinese Writing Contest”?
