Hi,

I'm currently about to finish my Boya Elementary Books ( both volumes) and I cannot seem to find the next set anywhere ( the quasi-intermediate). Where I've found a textbook, it doesn't come with a corresponding workbook and I cannot seem to find the workbook anywhere for the life of me. Does anyone know where I can buy them ( both the textbook + workbook and for both volumes) ? I'm from the UK ...

Thank You :)

Hi

I am in the UK as well and got my Boya books ( the new reading and writing and listening and speaking books at elementary) from purple culture which was the only place that even listed these new books .

They were great and quick. If that’s any help. I believe someone from them posts on this site.

Regards.

+1 for PurpleCulture. I've used them a few times and they are quick under normal circumstances.

But at the moment it's likely that international shipping is still being affected by lack of flights between China and the UK.  I've had to wait 4 weeks just for a couple of registered letters from the UK, because they sat in the mail terminal at Heathrow just waiting for a flight.

I ordered from purple culture about 3 months ago and received the books 7 days later. I have now also looked everywhere and can not find mention of a workbook.  Just checked Amazon and the books are available but no workbooks, they do have the new reading/writing and listening/speaking books. Maybe they come with the main book like the elementary or there may not be any. I hope someone who has used them can say if they exist.

Sorry for not being much help .

I have gone through all Boya books up until the 1st advanced one and can provide some clarity. Only the beginner Boya series (初级 I and II - green colored books) come with a workbook. In the quasi-intermediate series (准中级 I and II - blue coloured books) the workbook has been integrated into the textbook. From intermediate (purple coloured books) onwards there are no more workbook style chapters and how the series is built up changes significantly.

I still find the Boya series one of the most in-depth series which does not stop at 5000 words and consideres HSK 6 / 5000 words just about intermediate ?

Thanks Yanux for that info. I am finding I like this series very much having looked at far too many others. I think with the use of the newly published reading/writing and listening/speaking books it has become hard to beat ( for me anyway).

Regards and thanks again.
