ironbadger Posted September 29, 2005 at 01:03 AM Report Posted September 29, 2005 at 01:03 AM Hello all, I recently visited the Underground Museum of Chinese Mythology in Qingdao which is straight out of a Scooby Doo cartoon. Set in a huge underground cave system its full of partially lit paper mache sculptures that suddenly start moving on ancient mechanical runners just as you've turned your back. However there is no information in any language regarding what is being depicted and despite slightly traumatising my eldery Aunt who was visiting me it left us both very curious about the macabre scenes on display. Could anyone could suggest a good book (in english) on Chinese Mythology? Cheers If anyone is planning on visiting Qingdao I strongly recommend a trip to the museum. Quote
