Guest realmayo Posted August 13, 2021 at 08:58 AM Report Posted August 13, 2021 at 08:58 AM How solid or reliable is the internet connection these days when doing video calls from outside China into China? Quote
jannesan Posted August 13, 2021 at 12:55 PM Report Posted August 13, 2021 at 12:55 PM I don’t have any problems with my two teachers based in 石家庄 and 中山. We’re using Skype. Quote
JinWenSen Posted August 13, 2021 at 01:58 PM Report Posted August 13, 2021 at 01:58 PM I did a class at BLCU that span April-June on VooV (Tencent's Zoom equivalent) and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't feel it was way worse than video meetings I have for work in North America. 1 Quote
Guest realmayo Posted August 13, 2021 at 02:13 PM Report Posted August 13, 2021 at 02:13 PM Thank you - last time I tried online lessons about six or seven years ago the connection was no good at all. Quote
JinWenSen Posted August 13, 2021 at 02:28 PM Report Posted August 13, 2021 at 02:28 PM It might not be as good in secondary cities though... and you might also get individuals with poor connections anywhere too Quote

No delay at all. When I have one-on-one chats with my friend in Shanghai, the picture and sound are almost like we're in the same room. Better even than zooming someone in UK. I find it unbelievable!
