Online classes / Chinese internet connections solid these days?

How solid or reliable is the internet connection these days when doing video calls from outside China into China?

I don’t have any problems with my two teachers based in 石家庄 and 中山. We’re using Skype.

I did a class at BLCU that span April-June on VooV (Tencent's Zoom equivalent) and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't feel it was way worse than video meetings I have for work in North America.

Thank you - last time I tried online lessons about six or seven years ago the connection was no good at all.

It might not be as good in secondary cities though... and you might also get individuals with poor connections anywhere too

I've been having regular chats with 3-5 people at the same time, in different parts of China (/to here in England) on Tencent Meeting / Voov, and the quality of sound is the best that I've used (of zoom, wechat, and facebook messenger/what's app via vpns).

 

No delay at all.

 

When I have one-on-one chats with my friend in Shanghai, the picture and sound are almost like we're in the same room. Better even than zooming someone in UK. I find it unbelievable!
