Can I get a Chinese bank account in the UK

I’m looking to top up my Wechat wallet but it can’t be done by UK account 

 

I can use Alipay’s tour pass but would rather try and avoid the 5% top up fees

No, I would think not. Forget it. You can barely open a new Chinese bank account if you are in China. It's not as easy as it once was. Most of the time, you must be employed and have appropriate paperwork.

Pay the 5%. Be glad you can even do it that way. Worrying about small fees such as that makes no sense at all.

It does seem you can get a RMB bank of China account but still it’s based in the UK but that may work. 
 

I’ll have a look but agree it’s very simple to use the tour pass so 5% is a good deal
