sources for historically significant handwritten documents written in vernacular Chinese?

I've written some code that lets me easily create handwriting stroke animations. I think it would be fun to animate some handwritten documents of historical significance. Have any of the universities that collect such documents published scans online? I'm specifically looking for documents relevant to PRC history (big character posters, red guard diaries, etc.), but I'd welcome any suggestions.

Thanks, though I can't access those older ones because I'm in the US at the moment.
