rickardg Posted September 26, 2021 at 08:53 PM Report Posted September 26, 2021 at 08:53 PM I just watched the short film Guo Mie (孤味) (2017) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6739124/ and really enjoyed it, despite (or possibly because of) there being no subtitles and not understanding a word of Minnanyu. Does anyone know if it is available somewhere with subtitles (preferably English or Mandarin)? Quote
wibr Posted September 28, 2021 at 02:45 PM Report Posted September 28, 2021 at 02:45 PM Yes it's available on Netflix*, with subtitles. I created a word list based on those here: http://www.jiong3.com/gradedwatching/ (although I might remove it in the future since it's mostly Taiwanese) *at least on Netflix Germany, when I watched it Quote
rickardg Posted September 30, 2021 at 07:16 PM Author Report Posted September 30, 2021 at 07:16 PM Thanks a lot for the Graded Watching site, very useful. Even if it highlights how incredibly irritating Netflix geo-blocking is... ? I didn't even know there was a feature length version of Guo Mie, the version i saw was just 30 minutes long. I doubt I'd been able to watch a two hour movie without understanding the dialogue. Quote
