Has anyone ever studied Mandarin Chinese abroad through a grant/scholarship program (NOT university related)?

I am a graduating senior in college based in the US, and interested in taking some time off after graduation to study Mandarin in China/any Chinese speaking country, and am interested in doing it through a grant or scholarship. Please let me know if any of you have experience, or know someone who has done it!
