Presentation or doing a talk is a skill to be practiced. I used to be semi bad at presenting in English. That was until I realised it was skill you can train. One will always have certain phrases that one might trip up on during the presentation. These need to be identified and drilled by practice before your actual presentation. Actually, it’s no different to when we learn to speak initially but a person gets comfortable in their own deficiencies, especially when there is no feedback in daily life and the tolerances are much higher. At formal presentations and toastmasters, the requirements are much higher. For many people, that’s when they realise they can buck up their game a lot more even if they were fluent beforehand. 3 Quote
