Pengyou Posted November 20, 2021 at 03:45 AM Report Posted November 20, 2021 at 03:45 AM My new school uses CITIC bank to pay employees. I have opened an account there but have found that their services are pretty limited. They have told us that it is not possible to open a foreign currency account, that we can only transfer 2,000 rmb a day (most banks allow at least 5,000). This is odd, because 4 years ago, when I was in BJ, the CITIC bank had a table in a local mall. I was talking to them about their services, and at that time (or at least in Beijing) they had a very attractive array of services. Has anyone else had this experience? Quote
mungouk Posted November 22, 2021 at 02:31 AM Report Posted November 22, 2021 at 02:31 AM Open an account with ICBC instead and transfer your money when you get paid. I also have an account with CMB that I hardly ever use... the most useful thing about that account is that I could use my ATM card to withdraw GBP from Barclays and ASDA ATMs when I was back home in the UK. For some reason my ICBC card never worked. Quote
