Popular Post aprilz Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:47 AM Popular Post Report Posted March 1, 2022 at 10:47 AM Could be 多次x门无人. 2 1 2 Quote
EnergyReaper Posted March 1, 2022 at 12:26 PM Report Posted March 1, 2022 at 12:26 PM @aprilz 's answer helps a lot. It could be 多次上门无人. 2 1 1 Quote
Jim Posted March 1, 2022 at 01:41 PM Report Posted March 1, 2022 at 01:41 PM Yes, now @aprilz says that and with your context, that looks most likely. 1 1 Quote
fenggz Posted March 25, 2022 at 03:42 AM Report Posted March 25, 2022 at 03:42 AM it is Running-hand-writing (行书,may be called as cursive script) of chinese. personal advice, for non-chinese i suggest you learn regular script (alse called as :standard script ,formal script,楷书) first ,because everyone can read and write and understand. the other script is normally can be read depends on contaxt. the words you shows are likely 多次上门无人。 'likely'... if you only shows the first character, no one could be tell it is 多 or 双. the second ,if you only shows it, may be recorized as 贝. means we(the chinese our self) see the word at first we guess it as '[多双] 贝 上 门 [无元] 人‘ ok,then it may be 多贝上门无人 ok,there is no word such as '多贝' in chinese,we correct it as ’多次' 2 Quote
黄有光 Posted March 25, 2022 at 09:03 AM Report Posted March 25, 2022 at 09:03 AM @fenggz Why is 多 being written as 勺勺 here? is that a common variant? Quote

黄有光 Posted March 29, 2022 at 01:35 PM Report Posted March 29, 2022 at 01:35 PM @fenggz Sorry, you misunderstood me (and I had a typo). I didn't meant that the component was 勺 instead of 夕 (我打错了), instead what I was saying was that the two components seemed to be stacked horizontally instead of vertically (夕夕 instead if 多) Quote
fenggz Posted March 29, 2022 at 03:23 PM Report Posted March 29, 2022 at 03:23 PM ok. 1) 多 is not 勺勺 ( stacked horizontally),but it is 夕夕。 it looks like 勺勺 just because it is written in cursive script (a type of hand-writing). 2) there is indeed a word 夕夕 ,here -> ? ,and yes it is the same means to 多(lots of). but ? is used only by ancient chinese, we don't used that word now. (according to https://www.cidianwang.com/shuowenjiezi/duo793.htm) 3) there some kind of word similar: 吕(lv, a family name) 炎(meas big fire,or Inflammation - 炎症,发炎) 圭(gui1,used by ancient chinese: 1. a container for ancient chinese. 2 a tool for mearnure day-shadow 2. a measuring cup,1圭=0.5ml) 㕛(never mind of it) ... 双(double) 林(forest, wooden) 槑 从 ... not sure it is what you want ^^ Quote
