JMT72 Posted April 4, 2022 at 07:23 PM Report Share Posted April 4, 2022 at 07:23 PM I’m sorry I don’t know which direction this mark is supposed to go as I’ve never seen this one before. Could some please help tell me which mark this is ? I have a Chinese hunt seen bowl purchased years ago from a flea market. Thank you
Mandarincave Posted April 5, 2022 at 03:09 AM Report Share Posted April 5, 2022 at 03:09 AM Looks 苏锦德绘, meaning drawn by a person named 苏锦德.
889 Posted April 5, 2022 at 04:58 AM Report Share Posted April 5, 2022 at 04:58 AM Note the image has been flipped. Or it was somehow stamped the wrong way. But how could that happen?

Would you mind taking a look at the bowl to tell me if you believe it’s old or newer ?

JMT72 Posted April 6, 2022 at 12:54 AM Author Report Share Posted April 6, 2022 at 12:54 AM I may have take a pic of the marking upside down. I didn’t know which direction it was supposed to go . ☹️
889 Posted April 6, 2022 at 06:08 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2022 at 06:08 AM The problem isn't an upside down photo. It's a mark that's flipped, a mirror image of the proper orientation. Really odd. So too is that design. Dalmations don't feature much in Chinese art. Could this actually be European with some fake Chinese flavour? Would a Chinese artist put the mark on backwards? JMT72 Posted April 7, 2022 at 03:46 PM Author Report Share Posted April 7, 2022 at 03:46 PM I know there are some Chinese export pieces with the English hunt scene. They are very rare though. Some of them are with quite a bit. I would love for my piece to be .Lol
889 Posted April 7, 2022 at 05:28 PM Report Share Posted April 7, 2022 at 05:28 PM That's exactly why that poorly applied flipped mark should make you cautious. Like someone trying make an English hunt bowl appear Chinese. But oops!
JMT72 Posted April 12, 2022 at 12:55 AM Author Report Share Posted April 12, 2022 at 12:55 AM Yes, I’m afraid it’s probably a reproduction . Luckily it was very inexpensive. Thank you so much for your reply.
