Pengyou Posted May 8, 2022 at 09:13 AM Report Posted May 8, 2022 at 09:13 AM Last November I signed a contract with my present school for 2022/2023. Since that time, my sister had a severe bout of covid (cured, but still physically recuperating) and my brother had a stroke in November and died in December. I have recovered from all of that (mostly) and now feel that I need to return to my home to be with my family. I will finish my contract this year. Is there any kind of action my school can try to force me to stay or penalize me for leaving? Quote
Kenny同志 Posted May 8, 2022 at 10:40 AM Report Posted May 8, 2022 at 10:40 AM I'm really sorry to hear that. My mother came down with a stroke in last November, too. Fortunately, she survived after surgery and about two weeks of intensive care. Regarding your question, check if there is a termination clause in the contract. That is the thing that governs what shall happen following the termination of the contract. Usually, you wouldn't face any consequences as long as you don't leave at very short notice. Quote
