Can anyone recognise the song in this mp3 excerpt?

There's something classic and familiar about it, but I can't find a way to track it down. It was playing in the background to a radio programme about Peking Opera performer 胡文阁, though the song itself sounds like a very nostalgic 80s ballad. 

 

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions or pointers!

Wonderful! Thank you all so much, particularly to @Publius who seems to have pit @feihong to the post on this one (I did get in touch with her after @abcdefg's kind suggestion!). Very thankful for everyone's input. 

 

For future reference, the song seems indeed to date back to the (late) 80s. Recordings available online are by both 范琳琳 and 毛阿敏 (who performed it at the 1988 春晚).
