New Members HyianHero5 Posted June 3, 2022 at 10:20 PM New Members Report Posted June 3, 2022 at 10:20 PM Hello everyone! My friend's grandma has a TV that suddenly changed to Chinese language, We suspect that a cousin messed with the configurations. Now, with everything in chinese, w can't find where to change it back to our language. Can someone help us translating the options? I speak a bit of Japanese and I couldn't translate it, so I guess it must be chinese. Thanks in advance Quote

roddy Posted June 6, 2022 at 01:48 PM Report Posted June 6, 2022 at 01:48 PM Yeah, nothing helpful there. Find the manual and try following the procedure for changing the language, then just choose anything at random - it's hardly going to get worse... Quote
New Members HyianHero5 Posted June 9, 2022 at 08:31 PM Author New Members Report Posted June 9, 2022 at 08:31 PM Hey, thanks a lot for the replies! Sad to know there's no meaning in these characters. I'll tell my friend and see what we can do. Thanks again for helping me. I'll let you know if we manage to solve the problem. Quote
TheBigZaboon Posted June 10, 2022 at 10:07 AM Report Posted June 10, 2022 at 10:07 AM Almost as Roddy said above, even if you can't change the language, try using the manual, following the procedures in the same order, regardless of what does or doesn't make sense on the screen. For example, if the item described in the flow of tasks and choices is the third item in the English flow, then choose the third item on the scrambled screen, regardless of how strange it looks. In other words, select choices for the various options by location or in order of the available items on the scrambled screen, based on the English in your manual. It can't be any worse than it is now, so you may as well give it a try. TBZ Quote
889 Posted June 10, 2022 at 10:44 AM Report Posted June 10, 2022 at 10:44 AM My guess is he needs to find out how to do a factory reset on that TV that puts the default settings back. Quote
TheBigZaboon Posted June 10, 2022 at 11:04 AM Report Posted June 10, 2022 at 11:04 AM Very true, as long as the default settings pertain to a product for sale overseas. I assume that that's the case with this TV. But I use the guess-work based method for a lot of small tablets and computers I've used at work that aren't initially to be sold overseas, and it's worked well up to now. But they're gonna have to see what works, and keep trying until they have some success... TBZ Quote
