Lu Posted August 10, 2022 at 07:29 AM Report Posted August 10, 2022 at 07:29 AM Editing the translation of a short story. A man is about to meet a woman he's going to sleep with. He has never seen her before and is thinking about what she might look like. He thinks: 如果参照电影明星来想象的话,我希望她最好是林芳兵姜黎黎那种样子的,而不是肖雄潘虹那种样子的。 Unfortunately I don't know any of these movie stars, and from what I looked up on Google and such I don't immediately see what the relevant difference is between 林芳兵 and 姜黎黎 on one hand and 肖雄 and 潘虹 on the other. I assume it has to do with the nature of their beauty, but what exactly? Does anyone here know? (I asked the translator to figure this out, but she didn't, so now I'm 只好 doing it myself.) Quote
