Takeshi Posted August 26, 2022 at 02:51 AM Report Posted August 26, 2022 at 02:51 AM Does anyone know if it's possible for foreigners to enter mainland China from Macau? (with a pre-2019 issued 10 year tourist visa) I ask because I heard that the Macau border was opened, so I was wondering if it's possible. I heard of the APEC card thing the other day. Unfortunately, I don't have an APEC card. Wondering how to become a "bona-fide" businessman now. Quote
889 Posted August 26, 2022 at 07:58 AM Report Posted August 26, 2022 at 07:58 AM So far as I know, those old 10-year L visas are still not good for entry to China no matter how or where you enter. Quote
Jellyfish Posted August 26, 2022 at 08:23 AM Report Posted August 26, 2022 at 08:23 AM What 899 said, plus Macau is only open for travel from the mainland with a valid mainland visa so it's not a potential inwards travel corridor. Hong Kong is your best bet but I hear flights, trains and busses are all fully booked for months ahead. Quote
889 Posted August 26, 2022 at 09:03 AM Report Posted August 26, 2022 at 09:03 AM Except from the Mainland, you can only enter Hong Kong by air. Flights aren't really a problem. The problem is booking the required three-night hotel quarantine. But with some effort and flexibility you can probably manage even that. Quote
Takeshi Posted September 20, 2022 at 03:43 AM Author Report Posted September 20, 2022 at 03:43 AM I am a HK permanent resident (but foreign passport), so I can enter Macau from HK, but cannot enter mainland China. Only Chinese citizens can travel from HK to the mainland. I understand that foreigners with "valid Chinese visas" can travel from Macau to the mainland, but I guess the old 10 year tourist visas don't count eh. Quote
