How do I indicate someone's ancestry?

How do I indicate someone's ancestry? For example, how would I say "I am Irish," not 我是爱尔兰人, but some of my family originated in Ireland?

Thanks in advance!

I would usually say something like 我的家庭来自某个国家。我的一些祖先从某个国家来到这个国家。

From Baidu Translate:

N-PLURAL 根脉;祖籍;血统;根基
You can refer to the place or culture that a person or their family comes from as their roots .

I am proud of my Brazilian roots...

我为我的巴西血统感到自豪。

One term you often read when it's someone of Chinese ancestry from elsewhere is 华裔 and that works for other heritages too, definitely seen 非裔 and 拉美裔 in the US context.

ETA Should say I think it works for countries too, as in I could say I'm 爱尔兰裔的英格兰人.

XXX裔 is okay.

Or you can say "我祖上是XXX的" literally "My ancestor was from ...". Usually XXX is a Chinese place, but I think it's okay to put a non-Chinese place name there as well.

Demonic Duck took the words out of my mouth. A really US thing.
