US phone number service

Living overseas for a long time now and don not have a US phone number anymore. Sometimes having one would be useful, especially for receiving text message codes and so forth. I don't want to bother relatives asking to use their phone number. Does anyone know of a service that provides US phone numbers for expats?

For many years I have used SimpleVoicebox (https://www.simplevoicebox.com/) for a business I have that gets a lot of irrelevant incoming phone calls and a few relevant ones.  It's $4.95 a month for unlimited incoming calls, and they send you an email each time one comes in with a link you can use to listen on a phone or computer.

 

Only once did I have to call support for a problem and though I don't remember what it was, I do remember that things got straightened out right away.
