johnd Posted October 14, 2005 at 08:23 AM Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 08:23 AM There's a middle school near my home in Shenzhen that blasts out very loud music first thing in the morning, about 8am, and it's always the same song. Does anyone else have this experience, or is it just particular to this school? I'm starting to wonder what the song is about, but my Chinese is not good enough to understand the words. Is it just something to wake up the kiddies and the local community, or maybe packed with patriotic suggestion? Quote
liuzhou Posted October 14, 2005 at 11:45 AM Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 11:45 AM Does anyone else have this experience, or is it just particular to this school? It is normal. Most schools do it. Is it just something to wake up the kiddies and the local community, or maybe packed with patriotic suggestion? It could be either, although probably the latter. Are you sure its not the national anthem? A lot of schools play that every morning. Quote
Quest Posted October 14, 2005 at 09:07 PM Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 09:07 PM It's most likely a morning exercise song, all school children are required to do 早操 together before they start their classes. Quote
