Can someone confirm this symbol means chaos

does this symbol mean chaos and the idea of great beginnings coming from chaos

lol premise is I didn't know this character before. 

Looked it up on Pleco and it says 屯：

tun2: to station (soldiers), to store up, village

BUT ALSO zhun1: hard, tough, slow, obtuse, difficult, stingy. 

I'm sure it has different meanings in different contexts but this cracked me up.

 

Chaos as described above maybe can be translated with 混沌？

the catch is, as an adjective it also means ignorant and simple-minded.

I mostly see this character in Beijing's 三里屯 district (it's a fairly wealthy area in Beijing, where lots of foreigners go).

Based on what you said above, if I were you, I'd be very, very careful. More careful than you were in your other post about the wording of a tattoo. Take a closer look at the black screen you attached to your post. Anything catch your eye???

 

If you have someone ink something in a language you can't read, you'd better have a very strong level of confidence in the gang (of maybe four, at least) who have to help you get your ink...

鸿蒙 is another name for the primal chaos of legend and 鸿 would work on its own IMO, though by itself it usually means vast/boundless and can mean wild swan, but neither of those are bad. 鴻 in full form.

This hexagram means the appearance of difficulty in things when they arise, but things that follow fortune and break through the difficulties will thrive.

 

Nothing about chaos/混沌 in this article (it's a sound component in 沌, so no meaning connection).

 

In any case, without Baidupediaing it first, only I Ching nerds would know this type of thing. Most Chinese speakers would only know the meanings of village or to accumulate/hoard.
