chongjasmine Posted November 2, 2023 at 05:25 PM Report Share Posted November 2, 2023 at 05:25 PM I am from Singapore. I study Chinese from a main stream school all the way until O level. I got an A1 for my O level Chinese. Since then, I had not touched Chinese for more than 25 years. I can still speak and read Chinese, but I find myself forgetting how to write most of the words. My essay skill had also been worst than before. Where do you recommend I begin learning? I hope to master my Chinese again, before diving into another language like Korean, which I am currently studying. I believe as a Chinese, I need to know my native language well before learning another language. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Mandarin speakers can use pinyin to type and the choices of words pop up. Then you can use Pleco app to confirm if the word is the correct one. It all comes down to what do you need it for. Most of the time it’s chats on messaging apps for which the above method will suffice. However if your job requires writing documents in Chinese, then you will probably need to find another person to help write it.
