I've suddenly found myself with a lot more free time than I expected, and I'm considering going to China to study Chinese next semester, preferably in a nice University, but I don't know how reasonable that idea is. I'd be fine with paying for tuition and accommodation, and I should already have most documents they might ask for (passport, HSK(K), translated diploma etc), but I believe most (if not all) universities haven't been accepting new registrations for over a month now (for Spring Semester 2024).

I remember that, back in 2019, when I was studying in Beijing, a few students would pop out of nowhere and join our Chinese classes right in the middle of the semester, so I suppose the registration period might not be too strict in some places. Any advice, opinion, or commentary anyone would like to share?

I have searched by the keywords '国内高校接收国际留学生2024春季' on Baidu.com. There are a lot of results conforming to your requirements.  For example, 华侨大学2024年外国留学生招生简章 https://zsc.hqu.edu.cn/info/1079/6992.htm 2024年春季学期山东师范大学国际学生汉语进修项目招生简章 http://www.cie.sdnu.edu.cn/info/1141/7012.htm 首都师范大学2024学年春季学期招生简章  https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/659899076

They are just a few examples. You can find more and select.

Thanks a lot, @cncorrect. I'd been first choosing some University, to then go to its website and look for the Chinese program; your method is much better, in special because it doesn't return brutally outdated websites.
