New Members Emip88 Posted April 12, 2024 at 09:06 PM New Members Report Posted April 12, 2024 at 09:06 PM I think the first two symbols combined means "lucky", but I would like confirmation, thank you very much and greetings from Spain. Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted April 13, 2024 at 04:45 AM Report Posted April 13, 2024 at 04:45 AM Both are mirrored. Top one is 幸運. Could be "luck" in traditional Chinese but I'm guessing from context it's Japanese. Bottom one is 運は天に在り (I think? Idk Japanese). Google translate says it means "luck is in heaven". 1 Quote
honglam Posted April 16, 2024 at 10:17 AM Report Posted April 16, 2024 at 10:17 AM 運は天に在り。This is a sentence of Classical Japanese. It's a well-known saying of UESUGI Kenshin上杉謙信,meaning "the destiny depends on the heaven (so it cannot be changed according to humans' wishes.)". 1 Quote
