New Members DBinSJ Posted June 23, 2024 at 10:04 PM New Members Report Posted June 23, 2024 at 10:04 PM There appear to be five different sets of characters on the lid of this antique Chinese snuff box. I can make out clearly only the first, on the very right, 大吉利 (roughly, "good fortune"), and the last, in the lower left corner, 半瓦 (seemingly a kind of measurement, referring to either the height of the box or the volume of snuff that it could hold). Can anyone make out the other three sets of characters, some of which are quite stylized, in between? Quote
Jim Posted June 24, 2024 at 12:29 AM Report Posted June 24, 2024 at 12:29 AM The four laid out diagonally look to be 宜子孙吉; can guess at a few other individual characters but not whole phrases. Quote
