Hi Benj, could you post a picture of the tattoo in your post? That makes it easier for people to immediately see it.

These four characters '武信幸性', each represent a unique concept. Since each character can stand alone with multiple meanings, they can be interpreted as embodying four valued traits: strength, credibility, contentment, and simplicity.

Thank you so much for your reply.

When the tattoo was done, the concept was to get 4 characters each representing a different meaning:

Strength/Warrior

Trust

Happiness &

Love

So good to see they are not too far off the truth.

武 martial

信 believe, trust

幸 good luck, fortune (though 福 would have been a more logical and normal choice)

性 nature, character; sex. Love would be 爱

The penmanship is pretty bad. I suppose you could have done worse, but it's still an example of why you shouldn't get a tattoo of a language you don't know done by a person who doesn't know the language either.

No absolutely agree with you there. I've been embarrassed by it, but you try telling my younger self when I had it done.

Thank you though for your translations. Hugely appreciated 🙂
