Can I apply for a Master's in a medical field with my high school transcripts? (I'm currently enrolled in a bachelor's of clinical medicine; finishing next year in July)

So, I know it seems silly to ask a question like this but bear with me.

I'm currently in my internship year of medical school (in China) and next year in July I'll be graduating. The scholarship application for CSC will open soon next month and I wanted to secure a spot before graduating so that next year after graduating from bachelor's I can start my Master's without wasting any years. Unfortunately, I failed an exam in my last semester and my medical school has a rule that those who fail an exam in their last semester will only be able to retake the exam after internship finishes. This is a problem because my school has even refused to issue a pre-graduation certificate to those who haven't cleared all their exams which means my only option is to retake the exam n next year, pass and then just apply for my post graduate degree the year after the next, after I get the official transcripts and graduation certificate.

That would cost me a whole year. So, I was wondering is their any way I can use my high school transcripts for now and then after securing a spot and graduating submit the official documents to the school later?

I have all the other documents prepared, I just needed this one. Also, my GPA is good too and the professors that have agreed to be my reference are all top specialists in their fields so I think I have everything secured except this. Any advice?

P.s: For personal reasons, I don't wish to go back to my country and instead would like to stay in China so is there any scholarship for non-degree programs that I can apply for while I wait for the next enrollment year to apply for my PG.

I'd also like to mention that I know people who got accepted into master's and PhD while they had failed subjects and/or pending exams in the most competitive Chinese universities. The CSC council just gave them a spot and they submitted the other documents later. The only difference is that their schools still issued them the pre-graduation documents. I don't know why my school has this rule.

You should directly ask the universities that you will apply to. Maybe they will allow some flexibility..for example a provisional place dependent on you passing the exam.

Can you work for another year in China if there is a delay?

I think you should ask your tutor or the department responsible for the administration of foreign student for more details and advice.

I think no university accept high school diploma as a valid diploma of application of master(regardless of the field of study) because, why? High school diploma doesn't seems to be a substitute of a bachelor's degree.

There's a term called 同等学力 for Chinese students but I think this won't work for foreigners(And even for Chinese student this method of Master application needs a diploma from a junior college)

Maybe the policy of your university just says that you cannot get a pre-grad certification if you haven't passed all the compulsory courses or you have some courses failed. I think only your school could give you more information and advice.

I asked them and they completely ignored my question and just told me that I need a pre-graduation certificate.

It sounds to me like your question has been answered.

Probably. But it seemed as if they didn't bother to read the whole email as I asked them another question about another matter as well in simple English as well as Chinese. Anyways, it's fine. Even this response I got it after forwarding my email back and forth to the same addresses because they kept telling me to ask this person, that person, and then this person again. Maybe they didn't want to bother...

Or the clerical drones tasked with replying to e-mail didn't have the authority to actually give you a definitive "on-the-record" answer and they didn't want to "bother" Professor Zhang by kicking your inconvenient question upstairs. Congratulations! You have learned something about how institutional e-mail inquiries work in China.

Does it cost anything to apply for this scholarship? If not, I would just apply anyway, and send a copy of your 学生证 instead of a pre-graduation certificate. The worst that can happen is you get rejected.

That's exactly what I did in the end. There's no cost for applying so I took a chance. Whether or not my attempt in successful, someone else might learn something hopefully. Although, I do wish it works since I just applied for a 1 year general scholar degree at a different school. They told me since I'm eligible I can give it a try and they'll let me know.= so fingers crossed.

Thank you for the reply though.
