Unfortunately, the few cards that I browsed through didn’t have Chinese characters. Just pinyin and English.

This language tool is also full of truly clumsy constructions, things that would never really be said by anyone fluent in the language, even a fluent foreigner, let alone a native. Looks to me like it was made with heavy reliance on "machine answers."

 

Example: "Is this dish spicy?" is rendered as: "Zhe dao cai la ma?"

 

I'm sure you would have to stumble through this 2 or 3 times before a waiter figured out you were really just trying to ask, "辣不辣?" (La bu la?)

Here's what I would do with "only a few hours per week to learn" and no access to a teacher or tutors... 

 

Pick a textbook/video course/whatever and follow it until you get to the end. 

 

- 5 mins SRS vocab review

- 15 min lesson review (could be watching a video in a series, or looking at a new reading or patterns/examples in a textbook)

- 5 min practice writing and speaking sentences - maybe post them hello talk/tandem/chatgpt for feedback/correction 

- 5 mins update SRS deck with new vocab/patterns/whatever

 

30 mins x 7 days per week = 2.5 hours of study per week that I think will be much more effective than just drilling words and phrases in SRS
