Outofin Posted November 6, 2005 at 02:21 AM Report Posted November 6, 2005 at 02:21 AM Some interesting stuff is going on out there: a new periodical. I read some introductions from its editor. I'll buy it, if I have a chance.http://www.blogcn.com/user23/pigu6/index.html Quote
Outofin Posted November 17, 2009 at 07:22 PM Author Report Posted November 17, 2009 at 07:22 PM So long. It has been 4 years. I didn't collect them all, but I read a good number of 读库 and I really like it. The publisher talks about his work, the industry, and many other things at the 4th anniversary. http://www.zhanglixian.net/blogs/pigu6/archives/134113.aspx (The blog's main entry is here. http://www.zhanglixian.net/blogs/pigu6/) I agree with him. China publishes too many books but the overall quality is poor. I recently bought some books of some popular scholars. The books are nothing more than their lecture scripts. Come on, you call it a book and put your reputation on it? Zhang mentioned there are 300,000 new publications every year. He said "books" but I'm not sure where the number comes from and if it's only books or includes magazines and newspapers. Can anyone find relation numbers in other countries? I couldn't. Quote
