I prefer Jet li to do movies like this rather than those hollywood style... 'Romeo must die' etc...

Once again, maybe it's because i am old fashion.

Me too. I don't particularly like his hollywood movies... I am also more traditional. I the traditional films and stories lines much more than the present day ones. I hope this one turns out good.

I agree with all of you that Jet Li bests movies are chinese one.

The only american (french) movie I like is The kiss of the dragon, without special effects.

Agree,

The only hollywood production I like with Jet Li is Lethal Weapon 4.

It's about time he made a good movie again.

I liked Unleashed. All Jet Li's other European movies were only worth watching because Li was kicking ass in them, apart from that they were bad.

I wonder about one thing though. Li never has any romantic scenes in his western movies, the most he might do is put an arm around his love interest. Even in The one, he was married, but there was nothing physical. Is that because Li doesn't want to act love scenes, or do his producers/directors/whatever not want him to?

I saw the film today. It was not bad, though a bit old-fashioned. The fighting scenes are ok. And Jet Li acts (not just fights) well.

BTW, I think it was the first time in a film that I've heard Jet Li 真人發聲.

I just watched "Hero" on DVD.

This guy is good. I actually liked all the actors/actesses.

(and the music, story, cinematography, etc.)

I read an article today in The Nation (Thai newspaper) that Michelle Yeoh has been cut out of this movie to reduce the running time!!! The article also mentions that the version of the film released in Thailand will have the scenes of Thai boxer Somluck Kamsing included. His scenes will also be edited out for release in other countries. It seems crazy that they would hire a big star for the movie and then not even include her in the final release (or maybe it is just a way of selling more DVDs).

They want to reduce the length of the film from 140 minutes down to 100 minutes. There are plenty of films released these days that run for two hours and even some that go for three. I don't see why it is such a problem.
