EricSC Posted November 23, 2005 at 06:14 AM Report Posted November 23, 2005 at 06:14 AM I have some questions about the "New Practical Chinese Reader" books. Do I need to buy the workbook too? What sort of things are covered in the textbook, and what's covered in the workbook? As I'll primarily be self taught. Are answers in the back of the book? Or will I need some sort of answer key or something? And finally, I was reading some reviews of the old "Practacle Chinese Reader", it seems its not very strong on grammar. Has the grammar improved from the old PCR to the new one? If not would something like "A Practical Chinese Grammar" be useful with the New PCR books? Quote
snarfer Posted November 25, 2005 at 08:45 AM Report Posted November 25, 2005 at 08:45 AM I like using this series. I think the most important thing is to buy the CDs, which are well produced. I found that if I did all the exercises in the workbook I knew the characters. I highly recommend buying the workbook. As for the instructor's manual, I have hardly opened it. Quote
