zhwj Posted November 25, 2005 at 08:19 AM Report Posted November 25, 2005 at 08:19 AM The ma-jong variation I usually play with my friends in the Northeast over the Spring Festival is relatively simple - essentially little more than 穷和. Points are calculated based on 边坎钧, who threw the winning tile, and if anyone has any 杠. No flowers; every hand must have a 1 or a 9, and all suits must be represented. I'd like to learn different ways of playing, but it's a bit daunting looking at the eighty-something 番种 in some of the more sophisticated versions. I guess I could just play lots and lots of ma-jong, but the program I use isn't the greatest for learning - it will automatically tell me to 听 and say I have 16 番, for example, but if someone else wins before me, I won't find out what, precisely, made up my hand. So I'm looking for a sort of "flashcard"-like application that will show me a hand and ask me to identify how much it's worth (and tell me the answer if I don't know) - basically drill me on the point system. Any suggestions? Quote
